Future Farmer of America: 10/17/2015

Hey yall!

We hope you’re all doing well. We have been incredibly busy; I feel like that sentence is probably found in all of our blogposts.. It is still true, nonetheless.

However, today, we took a break and went to Green Meadows Petting Farm and Pumpkin Patch with our besties. It was a BIG day..

We weren’t really sure how Andrew would do with a petting farm.. we’ve never really taken him to pet animals, but we knew he loved them! However, we all agreed that we wanted to go somewhere where we would get our money’s worth. I do believe that today we did just that.

At the farm, there were cows and calves, horses and ponies, geese, ducks and ducklings, chickens and chicks, turkeys, pigs and racing piglets, llamas, alpacas, a yak, goats, sheep, a big turtle, and bunnies.

Andrew either petted, fed, milked or chased each of animals. NO KIDDING.

We were amazed! He wanted to do it all! I was a bit uneasy about some of the ones with hooves and sharp beaks, but Charles was in hog-heaven (pun intended)!

So, Charles took him into most of the pens, and Andrew fed as many animals as he was able. He and Charles also got to milk a cow! It was quite the experience.

We also got a few pumpkins and rode a hayride, but we didn’t get to do the little maze they had– we were all worn out!

Needless to say, we got our 36$ worth, and a sunburn to go with it! It was a perfect day though, and a Chick-fil-a following only made it better.

I was so excited thinking about all of the possibilities for the future with our little animal loving boy.. maybe he’ll be a farmer! Maybe he’ll be an agriculture lover. Maybe he will follow in his daddy’s footsteps.. because he sure did today. 🙂

Either way, we plan to cultivate this love that was revealed to us today. (pun also intended)

Here are a few pictures from the day! Enjoy!
